Working Area
The committee's working area covers the various parts of the greater Barahakshetra region within an 84-kos radius, including the following gaunpalika, nagarpalika, and upa-mahanagarpalika areas across Sunsari, Udayapur, and Dhankuta districts:
१. Sunsari District
The entire area of Barahakshetra Municipality, Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City, and Ramdhuni Municipality.
२. Udayapur District
The entire area of wards 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, and 9 of Belaka Municipality.
३. Dhankuta District
The entire area of wards 1, 2, and 3 of Sahidbhumi Rural Municipality, and wards 9 and 10 of Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality.
Objectives
- Preserve and promote the religious, historical, and cultural heritage within the greater Barahakshetra region.
- Carry out integrated and planned physical infrastructure development of the region.
- Strengthen the facilities, security, and information systems needed for pilgrims and tourists.
- Ensure the organized conduct of major religious events including the Kumbh Mela and Ardha Kumbh Mela.
- Develop the region as a national and international religious tourism destination.
